Manufacturing Operations Manager

Pay Range: $90-120k/yr

The Role

Simply Bread Co. seeks a highly versatile and hands-on Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead our operations and manufacturing team.

This role involves managing our manufacturing team, planning our supply chain, and working with our vendors, all while improving processes, systems, and tools.

You have strong leadership skills, as well as analytical and process design skills. You love working in a fast-paced, fast-growing ‘start-up’ or ‘scale-up’ environment and enjoy "building the plane as you fly it."


Objectives and Responsibilities

  • Manage our 7-member operations and manufacturing team to meet shipping quotas.
  • Process Improvement: Identify, analyze, and optimize existing operational processes to increase productivity and reduce costs.
  • Implement process changes that lead to measurable improvements in quality, speed, and overall operational effectiveness.
  • Use our current systems and tools (spreadsheets, ERP/MRP system, e-commerce tools, CRM). Work with our remote implementation team to improve systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the operation department.
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs on process improvement methodologies and tools. Empower team members with the skills and knowledge to drive continuous improvement, leading to a culture of innovation and operational excellence.
  • Reporting: Create and present project documentation, reports, and presentations communicating project progress, outcomes, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership. Ensure transparency and alignment, leading to informed decision-making and successful project outcomes.

Position requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in operations management, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to work with data and draw actionable insights.
  • Experience in process improvement methodologies
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects and collaborate effectively with diverse team members.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information.
  • Proficiency or willingness to become proficient with new software(Google Sheets, Shopify, Odoo, Hubspot)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset)
